SEVEN DAY QUARANTINE INFORMATION

Parents,

I wanted to pass on some potentially good information that we just received this afternoon regarding Quarantines for COVID19.

Students who have been directly exposed to someone who has tested positive for the virus, and are then quarantined, will now have the option of taking a COVID test on the 6th or 7th day of their quarantine.  If they test negative, they can return to school on the 8th day.  They need to bring the school proof of the negative test.  The Health Dept. will require them to wear a mask at all times (except when eating), and be monitored for symptoms through the 14th day of exposure, but they will be allowed to come out of quarantine.  If they choose not to take the test, the quarantine days have still been reduced from 14 days down to 10.

This will apply to students who are currently quarantined under the old 14 day rule.  If you are on your 7th day, have no symptoms, and can bring proof of a negative test, you may return to school tomorrow.  If you have passed your 10th day (even without a test) and are symptom free, you may return tomorrow also.

 Thank you,

Dr. Kent Holbrook
