INOLA, OK – On Monday, August 4, 2025, Inola Public Schools faculty and staff participated in an informative presentation on opioid awareness and prevention, led by Scott Greenland, Rogers County Opioid Abatement Project Manager, and Forrest Green, School Resource Officer for Inola.
The presentation was part of the district’s annual teacher in-service and focused on the growing opioid crisis affecting communities across Oklahoma and the nation. Teachers were educated on the signs of opioid overdose, emergency response protocols, and the critical role schools play in prevention and intervention efforts.
During the presentation, Greenland and Officer Green presented Superintendent Jeff Unrau with a specialized rescue kit designed for opioid overdose emergencies. The kit contains life-saving equipment, including naloxone (Narcan), as well as detailed instructions and resources for responding to overdose situations.
“This is about being prepared,” said Scott Greenland. “Our goal is to equip schools with the tools and knowledge needed to save lives and to help prevent tragedy before it strikes.”
Superintendent Unrau expressed his gratitude for the partnership and the commitment shown by Rogers County officials: “The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. We appreciate Scott and Officer Green’s efforts to bring awareness and actionable resources to our district.”
The presentation reflects an ongoing collaboration between Inola Public Schools and local law enforcement to address community health concerns and ensure school personnel are trained and equipped for emergency situations.
