During the Inola Public Schools end-of-year banquet on Wednesday, May 20, Inola Elementary School Principal Traci Thomas recognized four retiring staff members for their years of dedication and service to students and the school community.
Mrs. Shelly Younger retires after 20 years at Inola Elementary, where she impacted countless students through her kindness, dedication, and care in the classroom. From helping first graders learn to read to guiding fourth graders into young leaders, Shelly created lasting memories and meaningful relationships with students and families.
Mr. Tom Williams, who served four years at IES as a behavior coach and fourth grade teacher, made a tremendous impact on students and staff. He worked tirelessly to support students and played a major role in the school’s annual Veterans Day program and fourth grade leadership team.
Mrs. Sandra Tate retires after 41 years of service to Inola Public Schools. Over the years, she served in the classroom, as a bus driver, and as a dedicated paraprofessional. Even after semi-retiring in 2017, Sandra returned full time when the district needed her most, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to students and staff.
Mrs. Connie Thacker retires after 26 years of service at Inola Elementary. During her career, she worked in Special Education, drove a bus, and served as the building secretary. Connie’s kindness, humor, and welcoming personality made a lasting impact on everyone who entered the office and the school.
Inola Public Schools thanks Mrs. Younger, Mr. Williams, Mrs. Tate, and Mrs. Thacker for their faithful service, dedication, and the love they poured into Inola Elementary School throughout their careers. Congratulations on your well-earned retirements.
