The Longhorn Golf Team delivered a strong performance on Thursday, May 1, securing 4th place at the 4A Regional Tournament held at the Wolf Mountain Golf Course in Poteau. With this finish, the team has earned a spot in the 4A State Tournament—for the third consecutive year.
The team, composed of Travis Weast, Caden Thompson, Caleb Helling, Aidan Schaefer and Dior Seji, battled through a tough regional field on a demanding course and showed resilience and skill throughout the day.
A special congratulations goes to Travis Weast, who was crowned Regional Champion with stellar rounds of 69 and 71. His performance included a spectacular hole-in-one on the 135-yard par-3 sixth hole, adding an exclamation point to his championship title.
Teammate Caden Thompson also made a significant impact, finishing in the Top 10 with rounds of 84 and 72, helping to secure the team’s advancement.
The Longhorns now look ahead to the 4A State Tournament, which will be held May 12–13 at Dornick Hills in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
