Inola Public Schools is proud to announce the completion of the final major project funded through the district’s grand prize win in the T-Mobile Friday Night Lights contest.
In addition to the installation of a new scoreboard, upgraded stadium lighting, enhanced sound system, and new turf, the final phase of improvements includes resurfacing the running track. This major renovation began at the start of spring break and is scheduled to be completed just in time for the upcoming track season.
During this renovation period, the track is closed to both students and the community to ensure safety and allow construction to be completed efficiently. The district anticipates reopening the track to everyone by mid April.
As part of the $2 million prize requirements, all funds were designated to enhance the Friday Night Lights experience, meaning all upgrades were focused on stadium facilities. These improvements have significantly elevated the quality, safety, and overall experience for both athletes and fans.
Once completed, the newly resurfaced track is expected to last approximately 8–10 years before requiring additional updates.
Inola Schools is grateful for the opportunity to invest in its students and community through these lasting improvements to its athletic facilities.
