Washington, D.C. — On June 14, 2026, Inola FFA member Tate Unrau participated in the Washington Leadership Conference (WLC), one of the National FFA Organization’s leadership development events held in Washington, D.C. During the conference, students from across the nation participated in activities designed to strengthen leadership skills, build connections, and learn new ways to make a positive impact in their communities. Throughout the week, participants took part in workshops and explored the importance of teamwork, leadership, and civic engagement.

In addition to the leadership activities at WLC, participants had the opportunity to visit some of the nation’s most popular historic memorials and landmarks, including the U.S. Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and Arlington National Cemetery.

When asked about her favorite part of the experience, Tate said, “I enjoyed all aspects of the conference, from making new friendships to enhancing my leadership skills. One of my favorite moments was getting to see the monuments light up at night.”
