8th Track Boys

The Inola Middle School 8th grade boys track team delivered an outstanding performance at the Conference Meet on Monday, April 27, at Jay High School, finishing 2nd overall.

The Longhorns were led by a dominant showing in the 4x400-meter relay, where the team of Lukis Williams, Cooper Thompson, Bradlee Applegate, and Zaiden Emerson captured 1st place.

Individually, several athletes earned top finishes:

  • Lukis Williams won the pole vault and placed 2nd in the long jump

  • Cooper Thompson claimed 1st in both the 400-meter and 800-meter runs

  • Bradlee Applegate finished 2nd in pole vault and 3rd in high jump

  • Zaiden Emerson earned 3rd in the 200-meter dash and 3rd in pole vault

  • Blake Flanagan placed 2nd in shot put

The team also set multiple school records this season. The 4x400-meter relay team of Williams, Thompson, Applegate, and Emerson posted a record-breaking time of 3:57.22. Cooper Thompson set new school records in both the 800-meter run (2:10.87) and the 400-meter dash (54.99).
