Earlier this semester, the Inola Speech and Debate Team visited the Inola Elementary Library to search for new materials to use in upcoming competitions. With the help of the school’s new elementary librarian, Lindsey Swope, the students selected a variety of fun and engaging stories to perform during speech and debate events.
In addition to preparing for competitions, the team is sharing their love of reading and performance with younger students. Throughout the month of November, the Speech and Debate Team members are visiting every elementary class to read the stories they selected, bringing the books to life for students during their library time.
This collaboration between the high school and elementary students highlights the importance of literacy, creativity, and community involvement across all grade levels in Inola Public Schools.
