Gavin Miller at the CLAW Event

Inola High School’s Gavin Miller Shines at 2025 CLAW US Open Wrestling Event in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV — Inola High School junior Gavin Miller represented Oklahoma at the 2025 CLAW US Open Wrestling Event, held April 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Competing in the Under 20 Greco 55kg category, Miller went head-to-head with some of the top young wrestlers from across the country in one of the sport’s premier open tournaments.

This year’s CLAW US Open featured wrestlers of all ages from coast to coast, making it a true showcase of national talent. Miller’s performance stood out, highlighted by two thrilling revenge victories—one over Damien Trujillo of New Mexico and another against William Jakeway of South Carolina. Both competitors had previously edged out Miller in past tournaments, making his victories especially meaningful.

Despite suffering two hard-fought losses to Manuel Martir of Simpson University and Kaysie Lundquist of Washington, Miller demonstrated resilience and growth, showing he remains one to watch in the national Greco circuit.

Also making the trip and competing was Inola wrestling coach Montana Carson, who joined Miller in flying to Las Vegas to represent their program on a national stage.

“Gavin continues to raise the bar for himself and for our team,” said Coach Carson. “The experience, the competition—this is what prepares a young wrestler for the next level. He’s not done yet.”

Gavin Miller has already set his sights on returning to the CLAW US Open in 2026, determined to build on this year’s success and take his performance to even greater heights.
