In the world of high school marching band, October is affectionately known as “Bandtober,” marking a busy season of back-to-back competitions. On Saturday, September 27, the Inola High School Marching Band, The Golden Stampede, kicked off their competitive season at the Ironhead Invitational in Eufaula.
Led by Band Director Colby Crane and Assistant Director Sharla Harris, The Stampede earned 1st place in the 4A White division during prelims and also received awards for Outstanding Percussion and Outstanding Drum Major.
The following weekend, The Golden Stampede traveled to Glenpool to compete in the Blue Grey Marching Classic. There, the band once again earned 1st place in the 4A Blue division during prelims and received Outstanding Colorguard honors. The band went on to place Runner-Up overall in finals.
Next up for The Golden Stampede is the Oklahoma Band Association State Marching Championship on October 11, 2025, at Edmond North High School. The band is scheduled to perform in prelims at 8:30 AM.
