Gavin Campbell

Inola High School STEM students earned top honors at the American Castings STEM Challenge held Tuesday, February 10, in Pryor.

Competing against area schools, Inola students captured both first and third place finishes. Senior Jaxon Dark and his partner, junior Jace Hobbs, earned first place for their innovative flying frisbee-shaped design, while junior Gavin Campbell placed third in the competition.

As part of the event, students also designed, built, and raced more than 20 CO₂-powered dragsters, applying engineering concepts and teamwork throughout the day. For the design challenge, students were presented with a problem to solve and given a specific menu of materials they could purchase, with the goal of spending the least amount of money while still creating an effective design. The objective was to build a design capable of flying the greatest distance.

More than 40 Inola High School students participated in the event, showcasing their creativity, problem-solving skills, and dedication to STEM learning.

Congratulations to these students for their outstanding performance and for representing Inola High School with excellence.
