GAVIN Miller

Inola High School senior Gavin Miller captured the 120-pound state championship this past weekend at the Oklahoma High School Wrestling State Tournament, held at the OG&E Coliseum in Oklahoma City. Miller battled through a competitive bracket, winning a hard-fought final match to secure the title and cement his place in Longhorn history as a state champion.

Miller was joined at the state tournament by fellow Longhorn wrestlers Brennan Lawley, Jondo Gallegos, Jarrett Diacon, Meira McPheeters, Yazmeen Sonora, and Kenzie Hopper, who each represented Inola with determination and pride.

Senior Jondo Gallegos earned a third-place finish in his division, while Brennan Lawley placed fourth in his respective weight class. Yazmeen Sonora also brought home a fourth-place medal, making school history as the first female wrestler in Longhorn history to place at the state tournament.

The Inola wrestling team’s strong showing at state reflects the athletes’ hard work, resilience, and commitment throughout the season. The Longhorn community celebrates these accomplishments and the legacy these seniors leave behind.
