The Inola High School boys golf team delivered a strong performance on Monday, March 30, finishing tied for first place but ultimately coming in second after a tiebreaker with Poteau at the Heavener Invitational held at Wolf Mountain.

Competing in challenging conditions, the Longhorns faced steady winds atop Cavanal Hill under a wind advisory, making for a demanding day on the course. Despite the elements, the team showed resilience and determination throughout the tournament.

Team members include Travis Weast, Caden Thompson, Dior Seji, Aidan Schaefer, and Caleb Helling.

The Longhorns placed two golfers among the top 10 medalists. Senior Travis Weast led the way with a 2nd place finish, while senior Caden Thompson secured 8th place.

Inola’s strong showing in difficult conditions highlights the team’s grit and competitiveness as they continue their season.
