Inola High School track athletes delivered a strong performance at the meet held Tuesday, April 14, at Jay High School, highlighted by a podium finish for the girls team and a new school record.
The Lady Longhorns earned 3rd place overall, led by an outstanding showing from the 4x800-meter relay team of Sophie Helling, Zoey Hadley, Bella Riggs, and Brynlee Pratt. The quartet captured 1st place and set a new school record with a time of 10:29. The group is currently ranked 5th in the state of Oklahoma in the 4x800 relay. The 4x400-meter relay team—Abby Hughes, Zoey Hadley, Bella Riggs, and Brynlee Pratt—also contributed with a 3rd place finish.
Individually, Sophie Helling took 3rd place in the 400-meter dash, while Bella Riggs claimed 1st place in the 300-meter hurdles. Larkin Sears added to the team’s success with a 3rd place finish in pole vault and a 2nd place finish in high jump.
On the boys side, Jaxon Dark earned 2nd place in the 400-meter dash. Caleb Sims led the field events, winning the discus and placing 4th in the shot put. Eli Widney turned in solid performances as well, finishing 4th in both the 300-meter hurdles and 110-meter hurdles.
Inola’s athletes continue to build momentum as the season progresses, showcasing both depth and determination across events.
